This adventure started with visiting Sydney Harbor on my way to board the beautiful Oceania Sirena on 6 March 2017 for her inaugural circumnavigate Australia. Every visitor to Australia should see this magnificent structure of the Sydney Opera House. I had visited the Opera House before and had a short tour of the public spaces but this extensive tour took me back stage and I must say up and down at least 200 steps. The design is intriguing and imaginative.
The roof is tiles which do not need to be cleaned or polished or taken care of by anyone except nature. The entire structure is of natural elements such as stone, concrete and wood.
There are multiple stages and concert halls which can accommodate every type of venue from opera, jazz, plays, or contemporary events. You can see by the photos that it is well worth your time to take this one hour tour and learn about the architect and the process that was undertaken to find him, and the construction.
As you are touring you are able to see the adventurous souls who make the trek up the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and also watch the jet boat make it’s rounds in the harbor.
I finished the tour with a “tasting” menu. Thinking it would be a bite of this and that, boy was I wrong. Our group of 7 had 3 triple tiered serving trays of Chinese dumplings, sushi, shrimp salad, chicken sliders, meatball sliders and so much more that we were embarrassed that we left so much behind.
